This website uses GoatCounter to understand which pages and articles are read. This is audience measurement, not advertising tracking. The following notice concerns this analytics service; other resources used by the website, such as fonts and mathematical typesetting, are separate.
The analytics script sends the page’s address and title, and the domain of an external referring website when available. Search terms, URL query parameters, URL fragments, and the path of the referring page are excluded. Click tracking is disabled. Published articles and forthcoming previews have separate addresses in the statistics.
GoatCounter also compiles statistics such as browser, device, screen size, language, and approximate country. Its service processes the visitor’s IP address and browser information to receive requests and distinguish repeat visits. Its privacy policy explains its temporary in-memory deduplication and data retention. This does not mean that no IP address is processed.
No analytics cookies are used, and this integration does not create a persistent visitor identifier in browser storage. It checks an existing browser-local GoatCounter opt-out setting, if present. The statistics are intended only to understand readership of this website, not to build advertising profiles.
This website does not load GoatCounter when the browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, or when a GoatCounter opt-out is stored in that browser. If that saved preference cannot be checked, analytics is not loaded. Local previews, redirect pages, editorial tools, and embedded numerical experiments are excluded. Opening an experiment inside an article therefore does not add another page view.
